Lanzo d'Intelvi is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Como in the Italian region Lombardy, located about 60 kilometres (37 mi) north of Milan and about 20 kilometres (12 mi) north of Como, on the border with Switzerland. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 1361 and an area of 10.0 km².[1]
Lanzo d'Intelvi borders the following municipalities: Arogno (Switzerland), Lugano (Switzerland), Pellio Intelvi, Ramponio Verna, Valsolda.
In the west of the municipality, the Balcone d'Italia is a well-known mountain view-point that provides a spectacular view over Lake Lugano and the city of Lugano, to the high alps. It can be reached by road from Lanzo d'Intelvi.[2][3]
