Language reconstruction may refer to:

  • Linguistic reconstruction, establishing the features of a prehistoric language by the methods of historical and comparative linguistics
  • Linguistic purism, the practice of defining one variety of a language as being purer than other varieties
  • Language revival, the attempt to halt or reverse the decline of a language or to revive an extinct one
