Laney Amplification

Laney Amplification is a British designer and manufacturer of guitar amplifiers, bass guitar amplifiers, cabinets, and public address systems. Laney Amplification do not sell directly to the public. They only deal with distrbutors and retailers. (ref: http://www.laney.co.uk/faq)

History

Laney Amplification was founded in 1967 by Lyndon Laney in Birmingham, West Midlands, UK. The company is closely associated with Tony Iommi of Black Sabbath.[1]

Notable users of Laney Amplification products include: Tony Iommi (Black Sabbath), Billy Hutchinson(Hutch) Adam Dutkiewicz & Joel Stroetzel (Killswitch Engage), Ken Susi & Buz McGrath (Unearth), Steve Rothery (Marillion), Ace Frehley (Kiss), Mark Knopfler (Dire Straits), Timo Tolkki (Stratovarius), Rich Ward (Stuck Mojo, Fozzy), Kiko Loureiro (Angra), Elizabeth Buckingham and Mikko Lindström (HIM). Other notable musicians, who formerly used Laney include John 5, Paul Gilbert, Mikael Åkerfeldt (Opeth, Storm Corrosion, Bloodbath, Steel, Katatonia, Porcupine Tree), and Steve Vai (Frank Zappa, David Lee Roth, Whitesnake, G3) Peter Howard.
