Lamont Hiebert

Lamont Hiebert is a recording artist and modern-day abolitionist.

Lamont co-founded Love146 in 2002 and was the Executive Director from 2002-2006, setting the programmatic direction for the international anti-trafficking organization. He currently works as the Strategic Partnership Director for Love146 helping to shape programs and foster collaboration in the anti-trafficking movement.

In addition to his work with Love146, Lamont gained notoriety as a singer/songwriter for the band Ten Shekel Shirt. He has written numerous well known songs (including Ocean and Fragile), received a Dove Award nomination 2002 Dove Award Nominees, and performed at human rights events with artists including Dave Matthews Band, John Legend and Natasha Bedingfield. He has been the musical guest of a wide variety of hosts including GQ Magazine, the NBA, International Justice Mission, Yale Sex Week, women's organizations, churches and bars. He is currently based in the Connecticut where he continues to pursue music and develop programs and networks for Love146.

As a seasoned human rights worker and musician, Lamont powerfully communicates the challenges and successes concerning child slavery and exploitation through lectures, stories and songs.

Lamont plans to release a new album in 2013.
