Overview

Lakeview Academy is an independent, co-educational, college preparatory day school for grades K3 through twelve located in Gainesville, Georgia and accredited by SAIS-SACS. Situated just miles from Lake Lanier, Lakeview is conveniently located off I-985 and provides transportation options for its student body which draws from twelve counties and thirty-seven zip codes. Established in 1970, the campus includes three separate division buildings, athletic complexes, fine arts annex and a common student center. Lakeview Academy is a non-sectarian value-based school that supports the expression and celebration of traditional Christian culture while maintaining openness, respect and accommodation for those students of different religions and for their beliefs. Lakeview Academy values inclusion and deliberately seeks ways to diversify its student body, faculty, and Board of Trustees through a partnership with our community and our families.

Lakeview has families representing thirty countries, and foreign language is taught in every grade. Technology is integrated into each discipline, with sixth through twelfth grade students using their own laptops. All students have a variety of elective opportunities from which to choose, including the school’s award-winning drama and arts programs. Over 75% of Lakeview’s Middle and Upper School students participate in at least one school-sponsored sport, as well as a fine arts activity. While Lakeview’s students are offered the opportunity to excel at a higher level, an academic support program is offered to students at all grade levels when extra help is needed. The class of 2012, with 34 students, was offered $2.38 million in non-HOPE scholarships and had 100% college placement.
