Lake Tomahawk is a Census-designated place in Columbiana County, Ohio, United States. The population was 491 at the 2010 Census. Lake Tomahawk, Ohio was established in 1966 by the American Realty Service Corporation. Lake Tomahawk is a private community located between Pittsburgh, PA and Youngstown, Ohio. The 150 acre lake is surrounded by an additional 630 acres of residential homes and scenic property. It is a man-made, spring-fed lake, home to a variety of fish such as walleye, bass, perch, crappie and catfish. The average lake depth is 35 feet with the maximum depth of 65 feet at the dam. There is a 750 foot beach with a picnic pavilion, a well equipped children’s playground as well as lighted tennis, volleyball and basketball courts. The community has its own driving range and archery range. There are 6 docking areas with a total of 26 slips and a marina with a boat launching ramp and gasoline pump.With over 200 feet of sandy beach, the lake is enjoyed by swimmers, boaters, waterskiers, and fishermen.

Beaver Local is currently constructing a state of the art facility for its students which includes a High School, Middle School and Elementary School. Lake Tomahawk Property Owners Association has a 9 member board which has 3 members elected every year. The boards responsibilities include the management of the lake, roads, marina, treasury, security and lake activities. The Lake has its own private security force which patrols lake grounds while enforcing lake regulations.

Attractions

Lake Tomahawk has a number of local and nearby activities which attract large crowds throughout the year. Some of these activities include festivals which are nationally recognized like the Shaker Woods Festival. This yearly event attracts artisans and tourists from around the country. It is followed by Christmas In The Woods which is a favorite holiday event attracting people from the Tri-State Area. Lake Tomahawk is in very close proximity to 4 high quality public golf courses. They include Blackhawk, Turkana, Firestone and East Palestine golf courses. Locals and tourists alike enjoy one of the largest flea markets in the country on a weekly basis. The Rogers Flea Market attracts vendors and customers from across the country. A multitude of items can be found there routinely from sought after collector items,farm equipment, produce, clothing, and the latest electronic gadgets in an outdoor and indoor setting.
