Lacken, County Wicklow

Lacken (Irish: An Leacain) is a small village in the west of County Wicklow, Ireland, located on the shores of the Blessington lakes. It is part of the parish of Valleymount. The village in situated on the Blessington 'Lake Drive' and is often noted for its scenic view across the lake.

A post office was opened in Lacken on September 4, 1951 as a sub-office to Blessington,[1] but has since been closed.

A newly built primary school was opened in January 2011 and the old primary school has become a community center.[citation needed]
