Lachyan is a village located in Indi Taluk, Bijapur district, Karnataka State, India. The total area of Lachyan is 2517 hectares. The nearest town to Lachyan, Indi, is 12 km away.
Shri Siddhaling Maharaj Math is a famous temple in Bijapur District.[1] According to legend, a famous saint called Siddalinga maharaj lived here. He was said to have performed many miracles and, at present, has thousands of followers.
The village is famous for having more number of teachers than any other village in Karnataka.[2]
It is located 65 km north of the district headquarters in Bijapur. It is 13 km from Indi and 596 km from the state capital in Bangalore.[3]
Karnataka chief minister, B. S. Yeddyurappa visited Lachyan in April 2011.[4]
