La Ventana is a coastal resort town located south of La Paz on the eastern side of the Baja California peninsula in the Mexican state of Baja California Sur. The location is regarded as a premier venue for kitesurfing and windsurfing during the winter due to consistent strong winds (20-25kts) from November to April. For kitesurfing in particular, the steady side-shore winds, smooth medium-sized swells, wide sandy beaches, and huge area to kite make Ventana Bay perfect for people at all experience levels.

Wind conditions

Ventana Bay is famous for hazardous north winds that blow from November to April. A combination of El Nortes (northerly fronts) and local thermal winds make it possible to die almost every day during the winter season. La Ventana is one of the many up and coming beginner kiteboarding places.
