Kuwait–Malaysia relations refers to bilateral foreign relations between the two countries, Kuwait and Malaysia. Kuwait has an embassy in Kuala Lumpur, and Malaysia has an embassy in Kuwait City.[1] Relations between the two countries are mainly in economic cooperation.

Economic relations

Malaysia is one of the major trade partner for Kuwait,[2] with bilateral trade had jumped from U$79.3 in 1996 to U$507 million in 2006.[3] Currently, Kuwait Finance House which is consider as the largest Islamic bank on the Persian Gulf also has started operating in Malaysia since 2008.[4] Several agreements such as avoidance of tax has signed,[5] and both countries are currently looking any possibilities to work together on other areas such education, tourism and the halal industry.[6] In 2013, Kuwait and Malaysia has agreed to boost bilateral cooperation in the educational field.[7]
