Kumroj is a village in Nepal located 190 km. south-west of Kathmandu valley in the Rapti valley also known as the Inner Terai or Dun. The village is situated and altitude of 1000 ft above the sea level.Here we bounded by 2 mountains ranges on our north we can see the elevated mahabharat ranges of hills and on the southern side we are bounded by the churiya siwalik hills.The beauty of our pride is Chitwan National Park which is stands today as a successful testimony of nature conservation in south Asia.This is the first National park of Nepal established in 1973 to preserve a unique ecosystem significantly valuable to the whole world which is included this area on the list of world heritage site in 1984.We would like say, Kumroj is lay on lap of world heritage site which might be proposed for Eco-tourism,village tourism and green tourism site for tourism destination in near future. Kumroj is dedicated to protect the wild animals,community forest and chitwan national park. Physical Features-Tharu is a main habitat and tribe in this kumroj. When malaria is affected several peoples migrating from the different part of country which is increased day by day.The importance of kumroj is low land and plain flooded land.Nowadays kumroj is multicultural village where various tribe and people live together and struggling to make their destiny.

Seasons:

Here we expanses 3 different seasons.First comes winter this start early week of November,max temperature is day time 15-18c,night 3-6c. Then comes the summer and dry month it start early week of April. The max temp during day is 37-42 c and at night temp, is between 25-28c .The humidity is about 40/ percent. Then comes the monsoon; monsoon is start from early week of July. During this time humidity is about 100% and on average we receive 100 mm of rain a day.

Vegetation:

specially in kumroj we found two types of forest: Riverine forest and grass land which is very important habitats for wild animals and birds. Animals: kumroj community forest is spread around the 1,300 hectors of land which is attested with Chitwan National Park.In the community forest we can see the one horned Rhinoceros,Royal Bengal Tiger,Leopard,Sloth Beer,some times wild elephant,3 spices of Deer family,Reptiles and 165 species of colourful birds.

Agriculture:

Kumroj is famous for agriculture and livestock.They produce paddey,wheat,maize,mustard and various kind of seasonal vegetables.Selling milk is second occupation of kumroj and nowadays they started different kind of business like shop,agricultural depo,book stores,swing clothes.

Community Development:

It takes time to change society and their concept.But these days kumroj is gradually running for community development and tourism development and their infrastructural. They Build 2 view tower inside the community forest for visitor and tourists where they can spend their night in this tower to watch the wild animals.The cost is cheap for spend night and that money goes to community development and forest management.Elephant safari is a very excitement program in kumroj community forest and jungle hiking(walking) also very memorable.

Bio-gas:

kumroj has declareKumroj VDC as the 1st Model Biogas VDC at special ceremony organized at Kumroj on June 2nd on the occasion of World Environment Day, 2013. Around 80% of total households of the VDC have installed bio gas plants with attached toilets.

Milk Diary:

The diary is a successful story in kumroj so that they developed the milk cooling center to preserve the milk for long time.

Co-operative bank:

They encourage to people save their money and they provide the some personal loan for their purpose.

How to get there ?

You can get the plain or bus,micro bus and private taxi from the Kathmandu to Hetauda. you can get sauraha chock tandi or Parsa Bazar. we have airport at Bharatpur,you can get the local jeep,tanga or taxi from there and reached the Beautiful place of kumroj.

kumroj Offer you Eco-friendly holiday activities and of course friendly people teach you how to be good friend with nature .

Temple in Kumroj. in kumroj VDC there is many temple . Mostly important and famous temple is RAM JANAKI TEMPLE, which is situated in ward number 6, JANAKPUR village .

About Janakpur Village

Janakpur is one of the most important villages in this vdc. It has its own history and culture. The village is almost covered by forest, where one most important community forest located their. Ram Janaki Community Forest is located in this village, which is important home for valuable wildlife animals . Ram Janaki community Forest recently started jungle stay program for nature lover . visitors can stay with beautiful birds and animals and ask them to be a good friend . Janakpur is also known as Eco village . You can see wildlife animals like leopards, bear, boar and many beautiful birds from every house from this village .

Janakpur have 90% literacy rate . And where one primary school is there, which run by villagers and some Donner . School called "Janakpur Primary School " which offer free education for kids .
