Kuřim (Czech pronunciation: [ˈkur̝ɪm]; German: Gurein) is a town in the district of Brno-countryside in South Region, 14 km northwest of Brno. In 2011 there were 10 857 inhabitants and is the largest city of Brno-Country district. There is a prison for convicted men aged 18 years and more in the cadaster of the city.
It is placed near Brno.
