Krommenie (Dutch pronunciation: [ˌkrɔ.mə.ˈni]) is a town in the Dutch province of North Holland. It is a part of the municipality of Zaanstad, and lies about 15 km northeast of Haarlem.
Krommenie was a separate municipality until 1974, when the new municipality of Zaanstad was created.[1]
The statistical district "Krommenie", which covers the village and the surrounding countryside, has a population of around 17,330.[2]
Train services
The town is served by Krommenie-Assendelft railway station. From here there are 4 trains an hour to Amsterdam in one direction and Uitgeest - Alkmaar in the other, with a journey time of 25 minutes.
