Krishnagar Collegiate School

Krishnagar Collegiate School is one of the oldest schools in West Bengal .[citation needed]
History
The school building was donated by Monomohun Ghosh a famous barrister and good friend of father of Sri Aurobindo. The school is more than 165 years old.[1] It was established in 1846 in Krishnanagar, Nadia. It consists of class 1 to 12. The first principal of the school was Captain David Lester Richardson. At the beginning there were three more European and ten Indian teachers. Among those ten Indian teachers Ramtanu Lahiri and Madan Mohan Tarkalankar are very well known.
