Kris Lythgoe (born 10 May 1979) is an English and American television producer and developer, and theatre producer known for creating and/or producing reality television shows such as "Corkscrewed:Grapes of Wrath", "Who Are You", So You Think You Can Dance and the premiere Panto version of Cinderella in Southern California at The El Portal Theatre in North Hollywood. Early life
Kristopher attended Haileybury and Imperial Service College in Hertford. His parents are television and film director, producer and choreographer Nigel Lythgoe and television and stage director, producer, choreographer Bonnie Lythgoe. He is a massive Arsenal F.C. supporter. [3]
Television career
Kristopher is currently the President of Magic Pictures International based in Los Angeles. TV Credits include Co-Executive Producer of "Corkscrewed", FOX Reality, Executive Producer " Who Are You?", for Fox, "On The Nose", for TVG, Co-Coordinating Producer "So You Think You Can Dance", for FOX, and Consulting Producer for SYTYCD Canada, guiding CTV in establishing the franchise.
Theatre career
In 2010 inspired by his parents and his son, George, Kristopher brought traditional London Pantomime to Los Angeles with his first production of "Cinderella". This production included a Search for Cinderella which was an "American Idol" style audition process in conjunction with Westfield shopping centers. The premier performance for 2010's Cinderella benefited LA's BEST (Better Educated Students for Tomorrow), an after school education, enrichment, and recreation program for elementary school children in Los Angeles. The show starred Leave It To Beaver's Jerry Mathers, Harry Potter's Freddie Stroma, choreography by Mark Ballas, and helmed by his mother Bonnie Lythgoe. Jennifer Leigh Warren won a Broadway world award for her portrayal of Fairy Godmother. In 2011 Kristopher wrote and produced two more 'American Panto' with 'A Snow White Christmas', starring Lindsay Pearce (Glee) Maria Sirtis (Star Trek) and Neil Patrick Harris as the magic mirror and a second, 'A Cinderella Christmas' starring Fred Willard and Shoshana Bean. The Panto transplant is proving to be successful as 4 are now planned for 2012. Kristopher has previously produced several musicals in England including "Footloose (musical)" in the West End of London and "THE WEDDING SINGER" Number One Tour, starring Jonathan Wilkes and Natalie Casey.[4]
