Kratika Sengar is an Indian television actress.[1] Her first role was as P2 in the Indian soap opera Kasautii Zindagii Kay in 2007. She played Rani Lakshmibai in Jhansi Ki Rani and Aarti in Punar Vivah on Zee TV.[2][3][4]

Early life

Kratika Sengar was born in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. She went to Methodist High School, Kanpur, and then moved to Delhi and graduated from Delhi University. Then she moved to Mumbai for her further career. Before entering into acting she worked in an ad agency in Mumbai and for Hungama TV.

Career

Kratika Sengar started her acting career with a small role in the popular long-running drama series Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi.[5] She was then seen in Kasautii Zindagii Kay. She played the role of P2, a chirpy, bubbly, responsible girl. She also acted as Naina in Kya Dill Mein Hai, and she appeared in an episode of Ahaat. She was also a part of the reality show Lux Kaun Jeetega Bollywood ka Ticket. Sengar also performed in one week special Bura Na Mano Holi Hai with Naman Shaw. She did a very brief cameo of one episode in Kis Desh Mein Hai Meraa Dil as the outgoing and bubbly Simran.

However, her biggest break was Jhansi Ki Rani, where she played the queen of Jhansi. For this role she won awards including the Zee Rishtey Award for Favourite Beti in 2010, BIG Television Award for Veer Character Female in 2011, The Global Indian Film and Television Honour for Best Fresh New Face Female. Then she played the role of Aarti in the show Punar Vivah on Zee TV. She also did a cameo of the second season of Punar Vivah - Ek Nayee Umeed which aired on Zee TV in the beginning of August 2013.
