Krasnobakovsky District (Russian: Красноба́ковский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[2] district (raion), one of the forty-three in Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, Russia. It is located in the north of the oblast. The area of the district is 1,757.8 square kilometers (678.7 sq mi).[1] Its administrative center is the urban locality (a work settlement) of Krasnye Baki.[1] Population: 22,524 (2010 Census);[3] 26,047 (2002 Census);[6] 27,151 (1989 Census).[7] The population of Krasnye Baki accounts for 32.4% of the district's total population.[3]

The district was established in 1929.[1]
