Kostadin Angelov (Bulgarian: Костадин Георгиев Ангелов) (born 9 January 1973) is a Bulgarian coach.[1] He is currently the manager of A PFG club Pirin Gotse Delchev.

Early life and career

He grew up in the football academy of CSKA Sofia. Later he joined NSA Vasil Levski. He played for FC Chardafon and Vidima-Rakovski.

Coaching career

He began his coaching career in Vidima-Rakovski Sevlievo, as assistant for Plamen Markov. Later he got assigned as head coach of the team and drives them up to promotion to A PFG. He holds the record for the youngest manager in A PFG ever.

In 2008 he was appointed head coach of Botev Plovdiv, and in September 2010 he became the coach of Pirin Blagoevgrad. He managed to avoid relegation with Pirin Blagoevgrad in A PFG, despite the difficult financial situation in the club (however, the team was disbanded for administrative reasons soon after that). After the financial collapse of Pirin, he returned to Vidima-Rakovski and saved the club from relegation in the decisive barrage of the group. He became the only coach to have managed to rescue two teams in A Group in one season. Angelov's teams also tend to rely exclusively on Bulgarian players and make many transfers to leading bulgarian clubs like:Apostol Popov, Vladimir Manchev, Dormushali Saidhodja, Iordan Minev from Botev to CSKA, Ivan Cvetkov in Levski, Anton Karachanakov, Stanislav Kostov, Aleksandar Iakimov from Pirin to CSKA,Aleksandar Brannekov from Vidima to Lokomotiv (Sofia),Ivailo Vasilev from Vidima to Levski. He is popular with his nickname The Laptop.
