Korzár (Corsair in English)[1] is a regional newspaper published in Kosice, Slovakia.
History and profile
At the initial stage, the paper was named Korzo and was renamed later as Korzár.[2] It is headquartered and published in Kosice.[3]
The paper is the largest and only regional publication of Slovakia.[4] It covers news on eastern Slovakia and has the highest circulation in the region.[4][5] It is published in four regional editions.[4] The editor-in-chief of the daily is Peter Bercik,[5] and the publisher is the Petit Press publishing house.[6][7] The Petit Press also publishes SME and Új Szó.[1][8]
The weekly has a right-wing political leaning.[1] The audited circulation of the paper was 27,231 copies in 2008 whereas it is 15,713 copies in 2013.[1]
