Komsomolske

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Komsomolske (Ukrainian: Комсомольське, Russian: Комсомольское) is a city in Donetsk Oblast (province) of Ukraine. Population is 12,813 (2001).

Komsomolskoye is a small city in Ukraine about 1.5 hours outside Donetsk by local bus. Most of the people live in small flats with their families as was common in Soviet times. While it may seem very backwards by western standards the people have learned to live with very little in the way of materialistic possessions. As you will find in many underdeveloped areas of Ukraine and the world the people tend to form close family bonds to help support each other through the hard times. Its outward appearance may be daunting and poor by many standards, but upon closer inspection it begins to take on a certain rugged charisma.
