Komal Kumar (Kannada: ಕೋಮಲ್ ಕುಮಾರ್; born 4 July), is an Indian actor in the Kannada film industry, known for comedic roles. He is also a film producer and distributor. Komal made his cinema debut in the year 1992 as a second hero for the movie called Super nan Maga produced by his brother in law N. Srinivas. Since his debut Komal has acted in over 100 films as a comedy actor and eventually as a lead actor in the film called Chamkaisi chindi Udaisi.[1] He is the younger brother of actor Jaggesh, with whom he has frequently collaborated professionally.
Komal has won State award for his role as a supporting actor in the film Thavarige Baa Thangi in 2003. He has also won the South Filmfare Award for his performance in the Vishnuvardhan starrer Neenello Naanalle in 2006.
Early life and family
Komal completed his studies in Ooty. His brother Jaggesh is an established Kannada actor.H e debut as s full fledged hero in the year 1993 for the movie called Military Mawa under the name Chiranjeevi. Jaggesh also did a supporting role in spite of which the movie flopped in the box office. After which he started doing small roles in his brother Jaggesh and his brother in law N. Srinivas movies such as Shivanna, Khiladi and Jipuna Nan Ganda and eventually a lead actor. His nephews Gururaj and Yethiraj are also actors. His wife Anasooya Komal Kumar is a producer who has produced the film Kal Manja. The couple released the film under their home banner "Soundarya Lahari Combines".[2] His brother-in-law N. Srinivas supervised as a production designer.
Career
Komal made his debut as the hero in Mr. Garagasa in 2008. However he got a break as a lead actor in the 2009 released Chamkayisi Chindi Udaisi produced by his brother in law and his wife. Since then he acted as a solo hero in films such as Maryada Ramanna and Kal Manja. He has acted with many leading stars such as Vishnuvardhan, Darshan, Jaggesh, Upendra, Ramesh Aravind, Shivrajkumar, Sudeep, Ganesh and others.
His 2012 film Govindaya Namaha has been declared a blockbuster catapulting him to the stardom status. The song "Pyarge Aagbittaite" featuring Parul Yadav and himself went viral on the internet.
