Knut Ljøgodt

Knut Ljøgodt (born 1968 in Ullensaker) is a Norwegian art historian. He has been Museum Director of The Art Museum of Northern Norway in Tromsø since 2008. He holds a cand.philol. degree from University of Oslo. He also stayed at Courtauld Institute of Art in London and the Norwegian Institute in Rome during his studies.[1]

Amongst Ljøgodt's speciality fields are Scandinavian and European art from the 1800s, as well as newer Norwegian art. He has written several publications within these fields and been responsible for exhibitions such as Black Romance – Gothic Horror and Decadence (2009) and History Depicted (2011/2012). In relation to the latter exhibition he published the book History Depicted on Pax (Oslo, 2011).
