Knights of Badassdom is a 2013 American comedy horror film,[2] directed by Joe Lynch,[3] written by Kevin Dreyfuss and Matt Wall.[4] It stars Peter Dinklage, Summer Glau, Ryan Kwanten, and Steve Zahn.

Story

Three best friends and dedicated live action roleplayers take to the woods to reenact a dungeons and dragons-like scenario as a live action role-playing game fresh out of the mythical Middle Ages. Trouble arises after they unwittingly conjure up some serious evil in the form of a blood-lusting succubus, from the pits of hell.[5]

Cast

Production

The film is directed by Joe Lynch,[13] and stars Peter Dinklage, Ryan Kwanten,[14] Steve Zahn and Summer Glau.[15] Spectral Motion contribute the special effects in the film.[16] The film was co-written by Kevin Dreyfuss and Matt Wall.[17]

Filming began in July 2010[18] in and around Spokane, Washington.[19] In September 2012, Wade Bradley of IndieVest reported Knights of Badassdom is still in "post-production" and that the film is anticipated to be released theatrically in "the first half of 2013."[20]

On March 4, 2013 updates reported that an edit of the film was screened March 5, 2013 to potential buyers in Los Angeles.[21]

The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) settled a complaint on July 23, 2013, with Bradley neither admitting nor denying the findings and providing a statement of mitigating circumstances. The penalty was a thirty day suspension from the firm he no longer worked for and $7,500 fine (only payable if he re-registers with a FINRA firm).

On July 25, 2013, it was announced that Entertainment One had bought the North American distribution rights to the film with Wade Bradley negotiating the deal for IndieVest Pictures.[22]

Some footage from the film and interviews with Douglas Tait are featured in the monster-movie documentary Men in Suits.
