Kirwan is a suburb of Townsville, Queensland, Australia. Kirwan includes parks, shopping, Kirwan State High School and private schools as well as the Riverway complex which has a great deal of entertainment from swimming, barbecues and family outings to cultural events including an art gallery and night markets. Also in the suburb, are a large number of shops, the Willows Shopping Centre, and Cannon Park, which houses several restaurants, a cinema, and a military memorial in the form of a WWII era cannon, dedicated to the 18 servicemen lost when two Blackhawk helicopters collided on a night exercise in 1996, on the Hervey Range, nearby.
Kirwan is also well known as the home of the NRL team, the North Queensland Cowboys, and is the site of Dairy Farmers Stadium, and the Brother's League Club.
