Kingdom (キングダム Kingudamu) is a manga series written and illustrated by Yasuhisa Hara. The manga primarily focuses upon the war orphan Shin and his comrades as he attempts to become the greatest general of all time and unify China. The series was adapted into a thirty-eight episode anime series by studio Pierrot from June 4, 2012 to February 25, 2013. A second season has been announced, to be aired in June 2013.[1]

Main Characters
- Xin (信 Shin)
- Voiced by: Masakazu Morita
- The protagonist of the story. A war orphan who aims to become the "World's Greatest General".
- Ying Zheng (贏政 Ei Sei)
- Voiced by: Jun Fukuyama
- The young king of Qin who bears a striking resemblance to Piao. Later becomes the infamous Qin Shi Huang, the first emperor to unite China with an iron fist.
- Piao (漂 Hyō)
- Voiced by: Jun Fukuyama
- Xin's best friend. He too aims to become a renowned general throughout the world. Ends up working in the Qin palace as Zheng's body double, but dies at the hands of an assassin hired by the Cheng Jiao Faction.
- He Liao Diao (河了貂 Karyō Ten)
- Voiced by: Rie Kugimiya
- The last descendant of a Mountain Tribe.
- Changwenjun (昌文君 Shōbunkun)
- A loyal supporter of Zheng.
- Bì (壁 Heki)
- Voiced by: Kōji Yusa
- Chang Wen Jun's subordinate.
- Qiang Hui (羌瘣 Kyō Kai)
- Voiced by: Yōko Hikasa
- The heir of the legendary assassin clan "Chi You" who is out to get revenge on the one who killed her sister, "Xiang". Fights with a sword named "Lu Seui".

- King Zhao of Qin (昭王 Shō Ō)
- The great-grandfather of Zheng.
- King Zhuangxiang of Qin (荘襄王 Sōjō Ō)
- The father of Zheng.
Chengjiao Faction
- Chengjiao (成蟜 Seikyō)
- Voiced by: Kōki Miyata
- The half-brother of Zheng.
- Jie Shi (竭氏 Ketsu Shi)
- The Left Chancellor of Qin;supporter of Chengjiao.
- Si Shi (肆氏 Shi Shi)
- The strategist of Jié Shì.
- Lankai (ランカイ Rankai)
- A giantic ape-like creature raised by Chengjiao.
- Xu Wan (徐完 Jo Kan)
- A member of the assassin clan "Zhuxiong".(Not a member of the rebelious faction but a hitman) The one who killed Piao after mistaking him as Zheng. Later gets finished off by Xin.
- Muta (ムタ Muta)
- A warrior of the Bessa Tribe of Nanyue.(Once Again, he is more of a hitman than a member of the faction) Uses a blowgun with poisonous darts and an adze.
Lü Buwei Faction
- Lü Buwei (呂不韋 Ryo Fui)
- A merchant who ranked up as Qin's Right Chancellor after helping King Zhuangxiang to gain the throne.
- Changpingjun (昌平君 Shōheikun)
- Voiced by: Junichi Suwabe
- A prince of Chu who is one of the "Four Pillars" of Lü Buwei.
- Meng Wu (蒙武 Mō Bu)
- One of the "Four Pillars" of Lü Buwei; father of Tian and Yi.
- Li Si (李斯 Ri Shi)
- One of the "Four Pillars" of Lü Buwei. He later served Ying Zheng as his chancellor of Qin.
- Cai Ze (蔡沢 Sai Taku)
- One of the "Four Pillars" of Lü Buwei who was the chancellor of Qin during the reign of King Zhao. Cai Ze is chief of diplomats from Qin to State of Yan.
- Meng Yi (蒙毅 Mō Ki)
- The son of Meng Wu; younger brother of Meng Tian.
Queen Dowager Faction
- Queen Dowager of Qin (秦国太后 Shinkokutaikō)
- The Queen Dowager of Qin; Zheng's mother.
- Xiang (向 Kō)
- A palace maid who is from a poor merchant family in the countryside. Genuinely devoted to Zheng.
- Yang (陽 Yō)
- A palace maid who is Xiang's best friend.
