Krueger first competed her first Miss Universe Organization pageant in 2000 when she was named first runner-up to Miss North Dakota Teen USA 2001. The following year she placed second runner-up in the 2002 event. In 2004, Krueger won the Miss Teen International North Dakota 2004.
In late 2005 Krueger won the Miss North Dakota USA 2006 title in her first year competing in this competition. She later represented North Dakota in the Miss USA 2006 pageant broadcast live from Baltimore, Maryland on April 21, 2006. She did not place in the nationally televised pageant, which was won by Tara Conner of Kentucky; however, she was chosen as one of 26 of the Miss USA 2006 contestants to appear on Deal or No Deal and she caught the attention of Donald Trump at the 2006 competition.
Krueger graduated from Fargo South High School in 2003 and then attended the University of North Dakota, where she is working towards a Bachelor's degree in Communications and English and a certificate in Non-profit Leadership. She has won awards from her university, including the "Emerging Greek Leader Award" and an "Outstanding Leader Award". Krueger belongs to the Delta Gamma sorority and is involved in the Greek community at University. She is the president of Delta Gamma, serves on the Greek Council, PHC Council and Greek Life Task Force, and has also won Delta Gamma's "Sophomore of the Year" and "Sister of the Year" awards.
Krueger has modeled professionally since the age of 14 with work in print, runway and television commercials. In August 2003 she was a semi-finalist on the first cycle of America's Next Top Model.
Krueger is involved with the American Cancer Society serving as one of eight legislative ambassadors for the state as well as the North Dakota spokesperson at Celebration on the Hill, and American Cancer Society event in Washington, DC in 2006.
Her interests include pilates, making jewelry, volunteering for the American Cancer Society, playing volleyball and football, reading, singing and dancing.
