Kilmezsky District (Russian: Кильме́зский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[2] district (raion), one of the thirty-nine in Kirov Oblast, Russia. It is located in the southeast of the oblast. The area of the district is 3,106.4 square kilometers (1,199.4 sq mi).[citation needed] Its administrative center is the urban locality (an urban-type settlement) of Kilmez.[1] Population: 13,086 (2010 Census);[3] 16,132 (2002 Census);[6] 18,370 (1989 Census).[7] The population of Kilmez accounts for 45.5% of the district's total population.[3]
