Kianggeh, Brunei-Muara

Kianggeh is a mukim in the Brunei-Muara district of Brunei. It is located in the centre of the Brunei-Muara district, bordering Mukim Berakas 'A' and Mukim Berakas 'B' to the north, Mukim Kota Batu to the east and south, the water village mukims and Mukim Lumapas to the south, Mukim Kilanas to the south-west and Mukim Gadong 'B' to the west. Incidentally, it contains the country's capital, Bandar Seri Begawan.

Areas and divisions

Mukim Kianggeh can be divided into two main areas:

Bandar Seri Begawan centre and Bandar Seri Begawan areas.

Bandar Seri Begawan centre includes these following areas:

  • Kampong Kianggeh
  • Kampong Berangan
  • Kampong Tasek Lama
  • Padang
  • Kampong Sumbiling
  • Kawasan Pusat Sejarah
  • Kawasan Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah
  • Kawasan Perdagangan Bumi Putera

Other Bandar Seri Begawan areas include these following areas:

  • Kampong Mabohai
  • Kampong Tong Kadeh
  • Kampong Kumbang Pasang
  • Seri Kompleks (also known as Batu Satu)
  • Parit (Seringan)
  • Tumasek
  • Telanai

Notes: During the reign of Sultan Haji Omar Ali Saifuddin III, Kumbang Pasang was considered a mukim. But in the reign of Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah, Kumbang Pasang ceased to be a mukim and become absorbed within Mukim Kianggeh and is now a part of its areas till the present day.
