Khambhalia is a city and a municipality in Devbhoomi Dwarka district in the Indian state of Gujarat. Khambhalia is the headquarters and largest town in Dwarka District.

Khambhalia urban area (consisting of Khambhalia city proper and 4 villages: Ramnagar, Shaktinagar, Harshadpur and Dharampurhad) has a population of approx. 100,000.
Devbhumi Dwarka District
Khambhalia is the headquarters of the newly formed Dwarka district which was carved out of Jamanagar district on 15 August 2013. The population of Dwarka district was 738,520 according to the 2011 census, and the population density is 130 based on an area of 5,684 km². The district consists 4 talukas: Khambhalia, Kalyanpur, Dwarka and Bhanvad.
Demographics
Khambhalia has a population of approximately 100,000. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Khambhalia has an average literacy rate of 69%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 76%, and female literacy is 62%. In Khambhalia, 13% of the population is under 6 years of age.
Geography
Khambhalia is an ancient city with an old and still damaged portal Kille bandhi. You may find it on your way to famous Dwarka. You have to go through it if you are to travel to Salaya (a notorious port ages ago).
Khambhaliya has five gates: "Nagar Gate", "Por Gate", "Jodhpur Gate", "Salaya Gate" and "Dwarka Gate". Here is a picture of the "Dwarka Gate".
There are some public places like Aradhna Dham (11 km away on the highway to Jamnagar), Ghee dam, Jadeshwar tekri, Khamnath (area in rivers way with some temples), Maa Khodiyar Mandir (Goddess temple). Nagar Gate, Jodhpur Gate, Satvara Choro and Darbar Gadh (main market), Betk Road, Station Road, Rajda Road, Char Rasta (four ways) are the main areas of the town.
The "Ramnath" temple is in the outskirts of the town on the banks of the famous "Ghee Nadi", where an annual fair is held during the last three days of holi month of Shravan.
Shiru Talao (lake) is famous for its very ancient Shiv temple, where a fair is held once a year; it's a "must visit" because it's the biggest fair after Ranuja.
The Khamnath temple is the oldest, having been preserved in its old frame with utmost care and a great deal of effort by the citizens.
Industries
Khambhalia is famous for ghee, which is exported to various town and cities throughout India, and for its brinjals (aubergines). There are 35 ground nut oil factories. This city's second name is 'Butter City'. Industry for woodworking machinery is growing very fast. There are many large companies (e.g. Essar oil refinery Vadinar, Essar Gujarat Power Limited Salaya). About 35 km from Khambhalia is the Reliance Refinery, one of the largest. There are also many small companies (e.g. Shri Nataraj Ceramic & Chemical Industries and Ashapura Mine Chem Ltd.).
