North Melbourne Captain 1947, 1952-53

Kevin Dynon (born 11 August 1925) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for North Melbourne in the Victorian Football League (VFL).

Early years

Dynon attended St. Joseph's CBC North Melbourne between 1936 and 1940 earning the place of College Captain in his last year. He was noted for his athletic prowess and exceptional sporting ability which allowed him to become a member of the school's Tennis, Cricket, Handball and Football teams at various times. In 1940 he became Captain of both the Handball team and the Athletics squad.[1]

Military

In 1943 he enlisted into the Royal Australian Airforce and served with them until his discharge in 1946.

Football career

Dynon was appointed captain in 1947 at just 21, the youngest captain of the club until 1972 when David Dench was appointed at just 20.[2] Then again he captained in 1952 and 1953, 5 years after being first appointed.[3]
