Kestopur

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Kestopur, officially known as Krishnapur, lies on Kazi Nazrul Islam Sarani, more commonly known as VIP Road, Kolkata in the state of West Bengal, India, and is covered under Rajarhat Gopalpur Municipality. Keshtopur square is along the way from Ultadanga to the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport at Dum Dum (more specifically between Laketown and Baguiati). The community is made up of people of various religions from different states. Kestopur is one of the filthiest places of Kolkata, mainly because of its dense population, congested roads and poor drainage system. The Market of Kestopur is well known for having items from other areas of Kolkata at cheap prices. VIP Keshtopur crossing is one of the busiest of the Kazi Nazrul Islam Sarani. The crossing remains so congested during most of the day, especially the rush hour, that it takes about 15 minutes to cross this intersection. Kestopur comes under North 24 Parganas district, instead of Kolkata.
