Reynolds had a good minor-league career, but failed to translate his success into the Major Leagues. He appeared in 103 games played, 51 as a starting pitcher and 52 in relief. In 375⅔ innings pitched, he surrendered 370 hits and 196 bases on balls, with 197 strikeouts. He lost 12 straight decisions from the start of 1972, tying a National League record.
