Keith Rossiter (born 16 January 1984 in Oulart, County Wexford) is an Irish sportsman. He plays hurling for Wexford and his club, Oulart the Ballagh. He was named the Captain of the Wexford team for the 2006 hurling championship.

Early life

Rossiter was born in the parish of Oulart in County Wexford in 1984. He was educated locally and later studied Business at Enniscorthy Vocational College and Waterford Institute of Technology (WIT).

Playing career

Underage

Rossiter was on the Wexford minor hurling team when, at the age of 17, he cracked his spine in a club football game. The operation to correct the injury had to potential to leave him in a wheelchair if it was unsuccessful. However, the operation and subsequent treatment meant Rossiter's spine made a full recovery.

Colleges

During his period at WIT, Rossiter had a successful hurling career, winning three Fitzgibbon Cups, a National League and a Freshers All-Ireland.[1] His team-mates on that team included Setanta Ó hAilpín of Cork, J. J. Delaney of Kilkenny and Paul Curran of Tipperary.

Inter-county

Wexford

Rossiter soon made the step up and became a member of the Wexford senior hurling panel. He made his inter-county debut in a Walsh Cup decider against Laois in 2004, however, his first championship game was against Offaly. Since then Rossiter has played at corner-back and was the captain of the Wexford side in 2006.
