Keith Langford (born September 15, 1983) is an American professional basketball player for Emporio Armani Milano of the Italian League. He is a 6' 4" (1.93 m) tall shooting guard. He played college basketball at the University of Kansas.
Professional career
Langford played in 71 games in the NBA D-League since 2005, most recently with the Austin Toros. Langford played in two NBA games for the San Antonio Spurs during the 2007-08 NBA season, tallying two points and two rebounds. In the 2008 season, he played in the Italian League with Angelico Biella.[1]
In the 2008–09 season, he played with the Italian club Virtus Bologna. With Virtus, he won Europe's third-tier basketball clubs competition, the EuroChallenge championship, and he was named the MVP of the Final Four. In June 2009, Langford signed a two-year, $2.6 million net income contract with the Russian team Khimki Moscow Region of the Euroleague.[2][3]
In March 2011, he signed a 4-year contract extension with Khimki, worth a guaranteed $9.2 million in net income (after taxes).[4] In September 2011, however, Khimki announced that they would be dissolving his contract, after he struggled to bounce back from injuries.[5]
On October 21, 2011, Langford signed a one-year contract with the Israeli League champions Maccabi Tel Aviv.[6][7] He was named the Adriatic League Final Four MVP in 2012.[8]
In July 2012 he signed a two-year deal with Emporio Armani Milano.[9]
Personal life
Langford has two brothers who are also basketball players. His brother Kevin played in college for Texas Christian University and has played professionally in Europe. Langford's other brother, Justin Wesley, plays for the Kansas Jayhawks.
