Keith Harris[1][2] (born September 5, 1976) is an American musical producer, songwriter and musician and is the driving force behind many top 10 singles and Grammy Award-winning hits. "Meet Me Halfway" and "Imma Be" by The Black Eyed Peas and Grammy winners "American Boy" by Estelle and "Be Okay" by Chrisette Michele are just a few. A Chicago[3][4] native, Harris is best known for his drumming chops[5] that round out the sounds of multi-platinum selling recording artists The Black Eyed Peas and Fergie. In addition, Harris's album credits read like a who's who of the music industry, including Michael Jackson, Mary J. Blige, Mariah Carey, Christina Aguilera, Chris Brown, The Pussycat Dolls, Earth, Wind and Fire, John Legend and many more.
In 1998 Harris graduated from Berklee College of Music in Boston with a degree in music production and engineering. While at Berklee, Harris met Bad Boy producer Richard Younglord Frierson. Frierson instantly recognized his musical gifts and took this young talent under his wing. Keith Harris says: “I’ve always been interested in music. As a young child, I would run to the TV during the commercials to watch them, and listen to the music. Once the regular program continued, I left the TV. Music is what I was called to do. I didn’t choose music, music chose me.”[6]
