The Katowice Open (currently sponsored as the BNP Paribas Katowice Open) is a professional women's tennis tournament played on an indoor clay court in Katowice, Poland and is held in April. The event is affiliated with the Women's Tennis Association (WTA), and is an International-level tournament on the WTA Tour. Katowice Open replaced Danish Open since 2013 WTA Tour season.[1] The official tournament ball is Babolat Roland Garros’. The organizer of the tournament is SOS Music company from Toruń, which has obtained the license from Octagon sport agency to organize the tournament up to 2018.[2] The Polish National Television has taken the Television Partnership of the event. The tournament will be broadcast by TVP in April.[3]
From 2014, the surface will be changed from clay to hard.[4]
