Kathleen Connell

Kathleen Connell was the California State Controller from 1995 until 2003.^[1] When she was Controller, she:

Ran for mayor of Los Angeles in 2001^[2] but came in 6th in the April 10, 2001 primary getting 24,062 votes (4.82%).^[3]
Served as a trustee of CalPERS and CalSTRS, which together comprise the largest pool of retirement assets in the world, for eight years.

She is currently President of the Connell Group, an investment advisory firm located in Washington, D.C. Dr. Connell has been an investment banker in New York and Los Angeles, She has published Moving Up To Millions: The Life Calculator Guide to Wealth.^[4]

Connell has a Ph.D. from the UCLA^[2] Graduate School of Architecture and Urban Planning and resides in Washington, DC.
