Miss USA 2006 (Top 15)

Katee June Stearns (born August 4, 1986) is a beauty queen from Orono, Maine, who has competed in the Miss USA pageant.

Stearns was crowned Miss Maine USA 2006 on Thanksgiving Weekend, 2005, at the The Sheraton Hotel in South Portland, Maine. This was her first year competing in the pageant, and she was crowned by the outgoing titleholder Erica Commeau.

On April 21, 2006, she represented Maine in the Miss USA 2006 pageant broadcast live from Baltimore, Maryland. In the pageant, she became the first delegate from Maine to reach the semi-finals since 1977. Stearns was placed in the top fifteen and competed in the swimsuit competition, but did not advance to the top ten.[1] Nineteen at the time, Stearns was one of the youngest delegates competing in 2006.

Stearns was also one of twenty six Miss USA Delegates who appeared on Deal or No Deal in April 2006.

She graduated from John Bapst Memorial High School in 2004[2] and went on to study journalism and dance at the University of Maine in Orono. Stearns has received a number of academic awards in the past two years.

Her interests include pilates and surfing but her main dedication is to dance.[2] By the age of fourteen, Stearns had achieved three national dance championship titles, including both team and individual. Her long term goal is to open her own dance studio.
