Kasimkota is a Mandal in Visakhapatnam district in the state of Andhra Pradesh in India.[1]

Features

  • The habitation of Kasimkota constitute of different castes in and around the village. Agriculture is the major occupation depends on the Sarada river bank. Brick-Tile,Biscuit factories welcomes the guests to the village.
  • Sri Venugopala Swamy Temple situated on the banks of river Sarada is very ancient. The Chief deity is Sri Venu Gopala Swamy - the literal meaning is the lord with flute or the incarnation of Lord Sri Krishna.
  • Special poojas performed in the temple on any vishnavite holy days especially, during Makara Sankranthi and Sree Krishnaashtami days. A fare is conducted on the day of Makara Sankranthi in the premises of the temple. Holy Oxen named as Taadupeddu are decorated with beautiful ornaments and special performances named as sevas performed by different groups belonging to Yadava, Kaapu and Gavara castes.
  • Sri Nookambika temple is situated on the National Highway is one of the west limit of the village.
  • A legend is popular among the villagers that during the mid of 20th century, Nookambika Thalli of Anakapalle has reincarnated as Nookambika of Kasimkota village.
  • Sri Kanaka Mahalakshmi Temple and Sri Rama Temple are located in the interior part of the village with paddy lands around.
  • Dramas, Stage shows are performed by Sri Kanaka Mahalakshmi Kala Samithi in the village for all the occasions and local festivals. Kasimkota can be treated as a destiny of peace.
  • Kasimkota has an old historical High school named DPNZPP High School. its full name is Durisetti Peda Narasimham Zilla Praja Parishad High School. All the old students are conducting Alumni and contributing some good things to the village and school. The Batch 1988-1989 did similar one and conducted various programs in the village including Bus shelter, Water provisioning Etc., The details of this batch can be found at ssc8889.com. A Alumni meet of the 1993-94 batch was conducted by Late Mr. Romala Naga Ravi Krishna in 2011 and thereby set a trend for similar activities.
