Karlsbrunn is a German village, part of the municipality of Großrosseln, situated in the district of Saarbrücken, part of the federal state of Saarland. Its population is about 1,100 inhabitants.
History
Geography
The village lies in the urban area of Saarbrücken, 5 km in south of Großrosseln and close to the frontier with France (with the department of Moselle, Lorraine). The nearest French municipalities are Rosbruck, Forbach and Freyming-Merlebach.
Personalities
It was the birthplace of Dwight D. Eisenhower's early ancestor Hans Nicolas Eisenhauer (1691-1760), who emigrated to Pennsylvania in 1741 and was buried in Dauphin, Pennsylvania.
