Karl Hoerig
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
U.S. Air Force Major Karl Hoerig was a decorated combat pilot who carried out over 200 missions in Iraq and Afghanistan. He was murdered in Newton Falls, Ohio, in March 2007 by his wife, Claudia Hoerig, who fled the country for her native land of Brazil. Brazil's refusal to extradite her has been a source of tension between the U.S. and Brazil. Rep. Bill Johnson introduced the End Immunity for Brazilian Criminals Act and the Karl Hoerig Foreign Aid Suspension Act in the United States House of Representatives to pressure Brazil to extradite Claudia Hoerig.
