Karcsa is a village in Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén county, Hungary.
Sightseeing for visitors
In the village we can see an old architectural heritage from the romanesque art: the church. It consists of two parts. Older is the rotunda built with 6 sections. Younger is, - although of Árpád age - the parochial romanesque church of the village. Once it had 3 naves. At the western entrance there are column-capitals with old sculptures. One is a wrestling scene well known in all Eurasia. The other wrestling scene can be found at the Bény (Bíňa) church of the same age (Árpád age). The rotunda has 2 other structural relatives of this type in the Carpathian Basin: Gerény and Kiszombor. They are probably origin and relation with the art of the Caucasus Mountains.
