Kapra is a town and a municipality in Rangareddi district in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It forms part of the Greater Hyderabad conurbation.

Geography

Kapra is located at 17°29′N 78°34′E / 17.49°N 78.57°E / 17.49; 78.57.[1] It has an average elevation of 540 metres (1771 feet).

Demographics

As of 2006 India census,[2] Kapra had a population of 321,176. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Kapra has an average literacy rate of 89%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 79%, and female literacy is 91%. In Kapra, 12% of the population is under 6 years of age.
