Kapil Hari Paranjape (K.H. Paranjape) is an Indian mathematician specialising in algebraic geometry. He is a Professor of Mathematics in Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Mohali.[1]

Professor Paranjape obtained his M Sc degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur and Ph D from University of Bombay. He worked as Reader in Tata Institute of Fundamental Research form 1993 to 1998, then as Professor in Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata for one year. He then joined Institute of Mathematical Sciences, Chennai, in 1996. Since 2009, he has been working as Professor in Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Mohali.

He was awarded the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize for Science and Technology in 2005, the highest science award in India, in the mathematical sciences category. [2][3]

Paranjape is also involved in the promotion of Linux and GNU[4] and also writes a popular blog Mast Kalandar.[5]
