The Kaohsiung City Government (Chinese: 高雄市政府; pinyin: Gāoxióng Shì Zhèngfǔ) is the top-tier local government administrative body of R.O.C.(Taiwan) from December 2010. It consists of a directly elected executive Mayor of Kaohsiung .It replaced the earlier Kaohsiung County Government and Kaohsiung City Government which had covered a much bigger area and governed more citizens .

The mayor of Kaohsiung City is the chief executive officer of the city. He/she is elected for a four-year term and limited to serving no more than two terms. Under the mayor there are 3 deputy mayors, 1 secretary-general, 2 deputy secretary-generals and 30 principal officers.[1]
