Kampur Town (IPA: ˈkæmˌpʊə) (Assamese: কামপুৰ) is a census town in Nagaon district in the Indian state of Assam.
Geography
Kampur is located at 26°12′N 92°38′E / 26.20°N 92.63°E.[1] It has an average elevation of 48 m (157 ft).
Demographics
As of 2011 India census,[2] Kampur Town had a population of 185087. Males constitute 94844 and females 90243. Kampur Town has an average literacy rate of 75%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 79%, and female literacy is 71%. In Kampur Town, 10% of the population is under 6 years of age.
