Kama-var-apu-kota is a village and a mandal in West Godavari district in the state of Andhra Pradesh in India.[1]

Geography

Kamavarapukota lies on the Eluru-Jangareddygudem road in hilly terrain. The Kamavaraukota community includes three villages, Kotturu, Kamavarapukota, and Pathuru. Eluru and Jangareddigudem are also nearby.

Demographics

In 2001, Kamavarapukota had 53,592 inhabitants residing in 13,205 households. Men numbered 27,107 and women 26,485. There were 6,667 children under 6 years of age. Of these, 3,324 were boys and 3,343 were girls. 30,467 were literate.

  • Ramalayam temple, Jeelakarragudem village, built by the S. R. R. Subbaraju and Lingaraju brothers.

Culture

A feast is made on each Tuesday of Kartika masam (month), beginning on the first new moon of October - November. Each year, at the old temple, there is a seven day wedding event. The celebrations begin with a Deepalu (candle ceremony) then there is the Akhilagandla Telila Yuvajana ceremonial gathering and the Sri Arya Vysya Yuvagana ceremonial gathering.
