Kalypso Media is a German video game developer and publisher. Founded in summer 2006 by industry veterans Simon Hellwig and Stefan Marcinek, the company has published and/or developed a number of successful titles such as Sins of a Solar Empire,[1] Ceville, Dungeons, Airline Tycoon 2, Boulder Dash, DarkStar One, Disciples, Patrician IV, Tropico 3 and Tropico 4.

History

Kalypso Media was founded in summer 2006 in Worms, located in the Frankfurt Rhine-Main metropolitan area. The company has considerably grown since then and now employs more than 120 people. Kalypso Media today has publishing offices in Germany, Great Britain and in North America and also runs an online distribution network. Kalypso also runs three development studios: Realmforge Studios, which is based in Munich, Noumena Studios from Berlin, and Gaming Minds Studios, which is located in Gütersloh. Kalypso Media is planning to release several big titles from major franchises in 2012, such as Jurassic Park: The Game, Jagged Alliance, The Dark Eye, the third installment from the Port Royale series and many more, including indie titles and first time ever retail games.
