The roads are very bad throughout, be careful of the kids and cattle wandering in the road if you are driving. And forest guards will not allow any Keralites'/Malayalis' to go inside the sanctuary. They will say "If you were a Tamil, we will allow". And go to the DFO office in "Nagercoil" and bring permission from him, which is more than 20 Km from there. If you call the forest Ranger, his office is in "Azhagiapandiapuram" which is 5 Km away from "Keeriparai" he will tell you he can't do anything. There is no mobile connectivity. So you can't call anybody if anything happens to you.
It is advisable to avoid going there may be wild animals wandering about or a quick rain likely causing the river to flood in a few minutes which will cut your road from the main land. And attitude of forest guards are very bad. They don't even know the full form of DFO(Divisional Forest Officer), according to their knowledge it is District Forest Officer.
