Kaij (Marathi: केज, Urdu: کیج ) is a city located in central Maharashtra state of India

Present MLA of Kaij is Prithviraj Sathe of NCP. Hon. Mr.Gopinath Munde is the MP of this area from BJP. Recently in January 2013, Sau. Rajanitai Patil was elected to Rajya Sabha. She is from Kaij.

    KAIJ SHARIF was a part of the State of Hyderabad State Asif Jah of Nizam of Hyderabad in British India. The Hyderabad State state was annexed to India in September 1948 following a military action. Beed remained in annexed Hyderabad State state until 1956 when it was included in Bombay Presidency. On May 1, 1960 Maharashtra state was created on linguistic basis and Marathi dominant Beed district became part of Maharashtra.[4][1]
